The state of Leonida (confirmed)

GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, the GTA version of Florida. Rockstar’s official wording: the game “heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond.”

Important: Vice City is only part of the map. Leonida also includes wetlands, coastal Keys, rural areas and a national park.

Vice City, modern version (confirmed)

Vice City returns, this time in a contemporary version (present-day Miami), not the 1980s of the original GTA Vice City. It’s the game’s central city.

The confirmed locations

From the trailers and official material, we already know:

• Vice City — the central city (Miami-style)
• Leonida Keys — coastal and reef area (Florida Keys-style)
• Grassrivers — Everglades-style wetlands (with alligators)
• Mount Kalaga National Park — mountainous, forested north
• Port Gellhorn
• Ambrosia

Rockstar officially describes the map as the biggest and most immersive in the series.

Map size (unconfirmed)

⚠️ Rockstar has given no official area figure. Everything circulating is community estimate:

• Comparisons ranging from 1.5–2x to 2.4–2.7x the GTA V map
• Claimed areas of ~125 to 200 km² of playable land
• The idea that Vice City is “less than 20%” of the map

Other details to verify

• Extra region/county names (Hamlet, Kelly County, Gloriana…) circulate but are inconsistent across sources → unreliable.
• “700+ accessible interiors,” dynamic weather: claimed by third-party sites, not confirmed by a precise announcement.
